College of Design appoints new Assistant Dean for Finance

Lori Tiede has been appointed as assistant dean for finance at the University of Kentucky College of Design. Tiede joins the college with more than a decade of financial and administrative leadership experience in both the private and public sectors, most recently serving as budget analyst for UK College of Fine Arts.

Gary Rohrbacher Appointed Robert Lynn Leininger Endowed Professor in Furniture Design

Gary Rohrbacher, associate professor in the University of Kentucky School of Architecture, has been announced as the Robert Lynn Leininger Endowed Professor in Furniture Design, a four-year appointment that will continue through June 30, 2029.

SoA Senior to give Breathitt Lecture on relationship between social issues, architecture

Lucas Carlos de Lima, a University of Kentucky senior in the College of Design, will give the 30th annual Edward T. Breathitt Undergraduate Lectureship in the Humanities. Carlos de Lima’s lecture will explore the utopian architecture of Wenzel Hablik and Peirre Chareau and the relationship between social issues and architecture.

The University of Kentucky Gaines Center for the Humanities announced the selection of 12 undergraduates as the newest class of Gaines Fellows, including one School of Architecture student. These students will join the prestigious Gaines Fellowship Program in the Humanities for the 2025-26 academic year.
