College of Design Scholarships

All college-level, departmental and school-specific scholarships for students in the College of Design can be applied for through a single application that opens each academic year in the spring semester. This same application is also used to apply for College of Design Education Abroad scholarships (note that the Zolondek Travel Award has additional eligibility requirements). These scholarships and the accompanying application are ONLY for students who are currently enrolled in the College of Design.

Incoming first-year and transfer students will have the opportunity to apply for scholarships as part of the admissions process. UK's Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships can provide specific information about scholarships available for incoming freshmen and transfer students . Other (non-scholarship) forms of financial aid are applied for through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Materials Fund

Studio projects are a key part of design education that can often incur additional expenses beyond the cost of tuiton and course fees. The College of Design Materials Fund provides students financial support to help cover the costs of materials for their studio projects. The fund offers awards of $50, $150, and $300, available to students with demonstrated need for additional resources to complete their project work. Funding will be awarded on a case by case basis, and is usually disbursed within 1-2 weeks of the application date.

CoD Scholarships

All CoD-specific scholarships, including Education Abroad awards, can be applied for through a single application. The 2025-26 application closed on March 2, 2025.

Materials Fund Awards

Materials Fund awards of $50, $150, or $300 are available to College of Design students who need assistance with the cost of materials for studio project work. Application coming soon.
