Meakins and Chugh to present at Interior Design Educators Council Regional Symposium

School of Interiors faculty members Jennifer Meakins and Aanya Chugh will be part of a peer reviewed panel discussion at the Interior Design Educators Council Regional Symposium, scheduled for Oct. 31- Nov. 1, 2024. 

Swanson selected as Lewis Honors College Faculty Fellow

Liz Swanson, associate professor in the School of Architecture and Associate Dean for Student Affairs in the College of Design, was one of six professors selected as inaugural Faculty Fellows for the  Lewis Honors College. The program "celebrates excellence in teaching and supports LHC students in the university’s degree-granting colleges through new opportunities in coursework, field trips and speakers."

Hagins wins award for Best Visual Paper at Design Society conference

Carly Hagins, assistant professor in the Product Design program, recently attended the Design Society's Engineering and Product Design in Education (E&PDE) in Birmingham, United Kingdom, where she was awarded "Best Visual Paper" for her research paper Reading Visuals: Exploring the Use of AI in Qualitative Research Analysis.

Product Design senior utilizes research fellowship to explore shoe design in virtual reality

For many University of Kentucky students, their ambition and drive don’t stop during summer break. Summer is an ideal time for students to take a leap into an experience within their college careers that will propel them into their chosen career field. KayDee Pratt, a senior majoring in product design in the College of Design, is one of these students. 

Hosted by the School of Interiors Work It Out A day of talks and hands-on workshops

Work It Out, hosted by the School of Interiors, will include a variety of workshops and presentations on process as storytelling from College of Design, Landscape Architecture, and SA/VS faculty, plus special guest artist Bryce Oquaye.

Faculty leading programs for education abroad experiences in the spring and summer of 2025 will give overviews of their programs at an education abroad interest meeting.  At this session, you'll learn about these fantastic opportunities open to students in all majors in the College of Design.

College of Design Lecture Series Remembering the Future with Herb Greene in Kentucky

Architect and documentary film director Lila Cohen will present on Herb Greene's Organic Architecture legacy from his most iconic to lesser known works, highlighting what he built and taught during his 18 years in Kentucky during the 60's and 70's. 

Gray Design Building Ribbon Cutting

Join us as we celebrate the official grand opening of the Gray Design Building. The event will take place in the Clearing of the Gray Design Building, followed by open tours of the space.

Venn: Junior Faculty Exhibition

The Junior Faculty of the College of Design have diverse degrees and experiences and their research reflects that. At the surface you may not see the parallels in their work but as you dive deeper the connections shine through. This exhibition highlights how the diverse work of the CoD junior faculty connects and complements each other.
