UK College of Design, Department of Landscape Architecture announces Spring 2025 lectures and exhibitions

The University of Kentucky College of Design’s Lectures, Exhibitions and Publications Committee in partnership with the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment’s Department of Landscape Architecture is offering a dynamic lineup of events for the Spring 2025 semester. This event series marks the second semester of collaborative event offerings in the Gray Design Building since the space opened in September 2024.

Events are free to attend and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

Spring 2025 Lectures & Exhibitions

• Jan. 24- March 14: ‘Life on Earth’ Exhibition by The World Around on display in the first-floor gallery of the Gray Design Building
  • Exhibition Opening with Beatrice Galilee and McKenna Dunbar at 4 p.m. on Jan. 24 in the David Biagi Forum of the Gray Design Building
     
• Jan. 29: Queer Designs and Cold War Homophobia lecture with Carol Mason, professor in the UK Department of Gender and Women’s Studies, at 4 p.m. in the David Biagi Forum of the Gray Design Building
   
• Feb. 7 – March 21: Massimals: League Exhibition by School of Architecture Associate Professor Jason Scroggin on display at Lexington Art League
   
• Feb. 7 – March 28: Reconstructing the Sense of Self Exhibition by Department of Product Design Assistant Professor SK O’Brien, Erin Miller and Lisa Kriner on display at Lexington Art League
   
• Feb. 7 – April 15: Paths Cross: Works by T. Kelly Wilson and Filson & Rohrbacher Exhibition on display at 21c Museum Hotel Louisville
   
• March 3: Future of Sport Summit, co-sponsored with the Future of Sport Institute and the UK College of Education, in the David Biagi Forum of the Gray Design Building
   
• March 3: Sung Ho Kim from Kent State University and Axi:Ome at 4 p.m. in 209 Gray Design Building
   
• March 5: Deborah Schneiderman from Pratt Institute at 12:30 p.m. in the David Biagi Forum of the Gray Design Building
   
• March 14: Timber Construction Symposium
   
• March 28- May 16: Axis Mundi Exhibition by School of Architecture Associate professor Liz Swanson with Lina Tharsing and Georgia Henkel on display at Lexington Art League
   
• March 29: Shaker Village Work Weekend
   
• April 4: Brian Kelly from University of Nebraska-Lincoln speaking at 4 p.m., location TBD
   
• April 16: James Timberlake of KieranTimberlake, lecture in partnership with East Kentucky chapter of the America Institute of Architects, at 5 p.m. in the David Biagi Forum of the Gray Design Building
   
• May 7-September 2025: Full Spectrum: A Year in the Making at CoD+LA Exhibition, showcasing student and faculty works produced throughout the first full year in the Gray Design Building
