Interiors students lead donation drive for hurricane-impacted NC communities

On October 19, 2024, second-year Interiors students Kat Pence and Noah Nolan headed to Swannanoa, North Carolina in a vehicle loaded to the brim with relief supplies for communities impacted by Hurricane Helene.

School of Architecture Marlon Blackwell at the Speed Art Museum

In collaboration with the AIA CKC the School of Architecture is hosting AIA Gold Medal winner Marlon Blackwell for a lecture on Monday, Nov 4 at 6:30pm at the Speed Art Museum in Louisville. There will be a meet-and-greet beginning at 5:30pm.  

Department of Historic Preservation hosts Dry Stone Masonry Workshop

The Department of Historic Preservation and the Dry Stone Conservancy cohosted a dry-stone masonry workshop at the Lower Howard's Creek Nature and Heritage Preserve in Clark County earlier this month.

College of Design 2024 Lyman T. Johnson award recipients

The University of Kentucky Alumni Association, in partnership with the UK Office for Community Relations honored two members of the UK College of Design community during the 33rd annual Lyman T. Johnson Awards Luncheon. 

Book Launch: Homing the Machine in Architecture

The Critical Software Lab is excited to celebrate the publication of a new book called “Homing the Machine in Architecture.” This edited collection is a series of conversations on the ways designers, practitioners, historians, and theorists orient themselves within the world of architectural digital fabrication. The lecture will feature a brief overview of the book and a discussion with editors Zach Cohen and Galo Canizares.
