Lindsey Fay
Associate Professor | Associate Dean for Research
Lindsey Fay is an Associate Professor in the University of Kentucky’s College of Design in the School of Interiors. Her work is centered around health design research, examining the intersection of people, processes, and the built environment. Her current research utilizes post-occupancy evaluation to assess the design of healthcare spaces and their impact on care delivery, integrating this methodology as an immersive learning experience for interior design students. Fay has collaborated with healthcare professionals, designers, patients, and students on numerous funded research endeavors. She is a frequent presenter at national and international conferences and has been published in a range of peer-reviewed journals.
As Associate Dean for Research, Fay has led initiatives to cultivate a culture of research and creative scholarship within the College of Design. Her efforts center on faculty mentorship, research advocacy, and administrative strategies that have been instrumental in advancing the College’s research enterprise. She has played a key role in securing funding, strengthening interdisciplinary collaborations, and promoting design research through events such as exhibitions, faculty seminars, and advancement workshops.
As Director of Graduate Studies for the School of Interiors, Fay has focused on enhancing the quality, organization, and visibility of the graduate program. She oversees recruitment, admissions, curriculum development, student engagement, and program administration.
