Hagins wins award for Best Visual Paper at Design Society conference
Carly Hagins, assistant professor in the Product Design program, recently attended the Design Society's Engineering and Product Design in Education (E&PDE) in Birmingham, United Kingdom, where she was awarded "Best Visual Paper" for her research paper Reading Visuals: Exploring the Use of AI in Qualitative Research Analysis.
The E&PDE conference "brings together representatives from education and industry who have an interest in sharing new perspectives on design education. It provides a forum for educators, practitioners and students from engineering and product design fields to discuss current and future educational issues."
The conference features a unique "visual papers track" in which sketched images are essential in communicating the primary information, while the text plays a supporting role.
