Guest Lecture R.C. May Photography Lecture Series: Clarissa Tossin

The UK College of Design is proud to be a co-sponsor of UK College of Fine Arts' R.C. May Photography Lecture with artist Clarissa Tossin. Each year the Robert C. May Photography Endowment Lecture Series features four emerging photographers. The series is made possible through the Robert C. May Photography Endowment, a museum fund established in 1994. All exhibitions are in the UK Art Museum. Exhibitions and lectures are free and open to the public. 

Clarissa Tossin will discuss the role of photography in her artistic practice, from her student work at the Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado to her recent solo exhibition at the Museu de Arte São Paulo (MASP), São Paulo. Tossin’s study of the layered residues of colonialism, resource extraction, and consumer accumulation has been supported by fellowships from the American Academy in Rome, Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, and Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study. Her artworks are in the permanent collections of The Art Institute of Chicago; Frye Art Museum, Seattle; Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; and Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
