Explore beautiful Italy in Summer 2026 with a group of students from the College of Design. From May 13 to June 22nd, you will live in the center of Renaissance Florence and participate in a variety of guided tours and cultural activities. You will take overnight trips outside Florence to explore ancient and baroque sites in Rome and beyond. From our home base in Florence, we will go by train to other important cities such as Venice and Verona. In Venice, we will experience the wonderous maze of charming streets and bridges along the canals. We will visit Doges Palace and Basilica in Marks Square. We will also take day trips into Tuscany to visit an organic Cheese Farm and Wineries. We will have guided tours through the magical hill towns of Montepulciano, Pisa, San Gimignano & Siena.
The Program will end in Rome with scheduled tours of the Vatican Museum, the Colosseum and Roman Forum. In the early part of each week, we will have regularly scheduled morning class in the city center - TBD. Your afternoons will be free to explore Florence on your own and to work on assignments. Your time in Italy incorporates a total of 6 free weekends for independent travel to other cities in Europe. During the summer 2019, 2022and 2024 most students traveled every weekend to such destinations as Paris, Berlin, London and the French Rivera. Experience some of the most important art, architecture and urban spaces in the world.
