Opening Reception: Thursday, May 7 | 4-6 p.m. How do we understand the world around us? Our senses shape not only what we perceive but also how we create. Making Sense, our end-of-year student exhibition, explores design as both an act of making sense and an act of engaging with the senses themselves. Featuring student projects that investigate the material, tactile and sensory dimensions of design practice, the work on display asks: which senses do we privilege in design, and what new questions emerge when we engage others?

The showcase will feature research displays by 18 Summer Research Fellows participating in the College of Design's Summer Research Fellowship Program, highlighting undergraduate, graduate, and internationally conducted research and creative scholarship. We invite you to stop by, learn about the exciting work taking place across the college, and celebrate the accomplishments of our student researchers.

That idea guided students in the University of Kentucky College of Design’s School of Interiors as they partnered with The Nest to imagine trauma-informed changes for its childcare space.

Spring 2026 Dean's List announced

Congratulations to the College of Design students that made the Dean's List for the Spring 2026 semester. To make a Dean’s List in one of the UK colleges, an undergraduate student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and must have earned 12 credits or more in that semester, excluding credits earned in pass-fail classes.
