Michael Jacobs, FAIA

Instructor

Michael Jacobs, FAIA, served as a principal partner at Omni Architects for 45 years. Michael is the recipient of the AIA KY's Gold Medal, and was further nationally elevated in 2017 to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects for his design accomplishments. His firm was recognized for designing over 30 AIA KY award-winning projects, has twice received AIA Kentucky’s distinguished firm award, and published a two-volume monograph of their 20th and 21st century projects. Michael, a graduate of UK, has served as an adjunct studio instructor within the College since 1986, and has been honored with the 2014 CoA Faculty Excellence Award for Service, the 2010 UK Commonwealth Collaborative Scholarship, the 2009 Teacher of the Year Award, the 1991 Tau Sigma Delta Silver Medal of Distinction for Design Excellence and Teaching, and the 1988 CoA Distinguished Service Award.
