Joseph A. Rey-Barreau, AIA, IES, is an associate professor in the School of Interiors. Joe also is an architect and lighting designer with more than 30 years of experience as a design professional. He has won numerous teaching awards, and has worked on over 1,100 projects as either the principal lighting designer and/or architect. These have included residential projects, offices, government buildings, stores, industrial, educational and health care projects. He serves as an education consultant to the American Lighting Association and has developed hundreds of lighting education courses for both the lighting industry and for allied professionals such as interior designers, architects and engineers. Joe also has developed and presented more than 500 continuing education programs over the past 30 years to groups such as the AIA, ASID, IESNA, IIDA, CSI, and the ALA.
