For 7 days over the summer, rising high school juniors, seniors and recent graduates are invited to participate in Studio 38°84 — a virtual week-long camp spent exploring the many opportunities for a career in design. Modeled after the College of Design’s undergraduate curriculum, this online camp will allow students to virtually explore the fabrication lab, learn analog and digital techniques and end the week with work for their portfolio. All virtual participants will be mailed a kit of semi-fabricated materials and tools for a hands-on studio experience in your home. Students will meet and speak with thought leaders from each department in the College of Design.
With an emphasis on thinking through making, students are given an analogous experience of studio culture before entering college. The camp concludes with a final review and virtual gallery showing of student projects.Apply for Virtual Camp
