PMA Architecture, a design, planning and preservation firm, is seeking a summer intern to support several preservation projects involving significant historic properties which are National Historic Landmarks or National Register Eligible buildings and districts. The ideal candidate will be a graduate student in Historic Preservation, Architectural History, or Historic Architecture with an interest in maritime history and architecture. The position will be based out of our Newport News office in Historic Hilton Village; remote applicants with the ability to travel to our office on a monthly basis and possibly travel to Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia will be considered. Applicants must be able to pass a background check, provide proof of “right-to-work” in the U.S. and agree to sign a “Non-Disclosure Agreement” related to the content of the work. The position will provide hourly compensation of $15/hour up to 40 hours a week during the summer of 2022.
