Mason & Hanger is seeking a Senior Architect to support our Special Programs market. The selected candidate will be eager to continue their career and will be someone who shares our corporate vision, mission, and values. The ideal candidate will be a licensed architect with diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices, utilizing knowledge and experience planning and designing projects from concept through IFC documentation, projects of medium to large scale. Has demonstrated experience on a broad array of assignments, and the ability to work independently. May supervise a small staff of architects and/or design associates in the production of design projects.

The selected candidate will be a licensed architect who is competent and experienced in all conventional phases of multi-disciplined design and methods of construction.

The work you’ll be doing:
-Leads and directs others in the production of project documents to include Drawings (CAD / BIM), Specifications (editing and checking), and support documents (basis of design).
-Leads construction phase contract administration activities for the architecture department on a project such as Submittals, RFIs, construction support, etc.
-Interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. Directly performing, or guiding others, in architectural design and calculations.
-Mentor and train other architects and designers in the department – primarily with on-the-job training & development. Checks work delegated to other Architects and designers on the project to ensure scope is documented successfully.
-The main point of contact to clients for architecture department project responsibilities (meetings, conference calls, comment review/responses, etc.).
-Ensures positive client relationships and client service with a focus on winning new work. Supporting business development activities (pursuit opportunities, fee proposals, change modifications).
-Perform other duties supporting department, as assigned
-Complying with data protection principles while handling personal, protected, and/or Covered Defense Information on behalf of Day & Zimmermann. Data Handlers should be trained to follow documented policies, standard operating procedures and security practices associated with protecting trusted employee and customer data.
-Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments, estimates, and prepares proposals on the most complex projects.
-Provides oversight and monitoring of projects to project architects and designers. May act in a team leader capacity in the absence of the project manager.
-The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated interpersonal skills and experience interfacing with clients, engineers, architects, and others of varying technical abilities

What you need to bring to the table:
Bachelor’s degree from a NAAB accredited school
Architecture License
U.S. Citizenship
SECRET security clearance
Great attitude and team player
Successful completion of the background screening process

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Architecture from a NAAB accredited school
Demonstrated AutoCAD and/or Revit experience
TOP SECRET security clearance
