McKay to be Honored at UK Art Museum Event
Associate Professor of Architecture Mike McKay will be recognized by the UK Art Museum as part of their Inspired Evening event on Saturday, February 25. McKay’s 2017 installation Singularities is one of the exhibits being recognized, along with other artists who have exhibited at the Museum in recent years.
There will also be a silent auction to benefit the UK Art Museum. College of Design faculty have donated 2 experiences for the auction: Jill Leckner will provide a tour of the FabLab and 3-D printing demonstration; and Lindsey Fay, Joe Rey-Barreau and Helen Turner have provided a Design Thinking Workshop.
The event will focus on UK Art Musuem’s commitment to the art of the Commonwealth, and recognize the numerous Kentucky artists they have exhibited and collected in their forty-three-year history. Curator Janie Welker will be the honoree, in appreciation of the exhibitions, photography lectures, acquisitions and scholarship she has produced during her career at UK. All proceeds support the Museum’s year-round programs and Free Admission policy.
