Dr. Gregory Marinic, SOI interim director and director of graduate studies, has contributed to a book launch at the Chelsea College of Arts in London. Authored by Anne Massey, A Companion to Contemporary Design since 1945 (edited by Anne Massey and published by Blackwell) compiles a collection of specially commissioned essays exploring complex areas of design that emerged in the second half of the 20th century in design history, design methods, design studies and more recently, design thinking. Dr. Marinic’s chapter, “Urban Sights: From Outdoor Street to Interior Urbanism,” explores the incremental post-war interiorization of urban streets, public spaces, and commercial activities.
