The School of Interiors presents a talk with Lois Weinthal, Chair and Professor for the Ryerson School of Interior Design in Toronto, on Friday, March 6 at 4 p.m. in Pence 209.
On the subject of her presentation, titled Elastic Poche, Weinthal writes: “The interior can be seen as a series of layers and surfaces that wrap and enclose the body, materializing in forms that span clothing to poche. These surfaces provide a foundation for this talk whereby projects will be presented with examples that start at the body and generate outward. The examples are not tied to one discipline, but rather, cross over and inform new strategies for shaping the interior by referencing shared notations and techniques. What comes to the foreground are concepts that bridge one discipline to another, revealing design strategies that can be scale-less.”
