Helen Turner, Assistant Professor in the School of Interiors, and Stephanie Sickler, Assistant Professor at Florida State University, will present an accredited seminar at NeoCon in Chicago on June 12, 2019.

Held annually, NeoCon serves as “the commercial design industry’s launch pad for innovation — offering ideas and introductions that shape the built environment today and into the future.” Merging with this platform, their presentation — Mind the Gap: Navigating the transition from design school to practice — will mobilize the professional practice experience of Turner and Sickler with their experience teaching at large universities to close the knowledge gap between design school and the actual practice of design. This seminar will assist emerging professionals in establishing themselves in practice through necessary tools and application of practical strategies.
