Lecture with Yoshihara McKee Architects

Yoshihara McKee Architects will give a lecture titled “Remodeling.Renovation.Renewal” on Monday, April 1 at 5 p.m. in Pence 209. Sandra McKee and Hiroki Yoshihara established Yoshihara McKee Architects in 1996 with offices in New York and Tokyo. Their working collaboration began at Rafael Viñoly Architects during the construction of the Tokyo International Forum cultural complex.

YMA explores differences and similarities in perception, materiality, and space between western and eastern cultures. A diverse portfolio of projects range in type and size from small residential interiors to large-scale urban interventions. The practice approaches each project as a unique opportunity to explore cultural, social and environmental issues through site-specific architecture. Their portfolio includes several projects engaging the adaptive design practices of remodeling, renovation and renewal.
