Associate Professor

Anthony Roccanova has been an Associate Professor of Architecture in the College of Architecture and the CoD at the University of Kentucky since 1974 where he has taught architecture design studios at all levels, electives in drawing and painting, seminars in urban design, history and social/philosophical seminars related to the study of architecture. His practiced based work has been in numerous offices including the architectural office of John Hejduk in New York and the urban design office of Wilson-Womersley in London England. His personal work consists of painting, sculpture, building construction and free hand drawing. Roccanova is a graduate of the Cooper Union earning a Bachelor of Architecture degree and studying there with John Hejduk and Bob Slutzky, and Cornell University, earning a Master of Architecture Degree in Urban Design and studying there with Colin Rowe. He has also taught as an invited professor at the University of Pennsylvania, New Jersey Institute of Technology, The Valparaiso School in Chile and the Malaviya College in India. He has won awards for building design, sculpture and drawing. Roccanova received his architecture licensure for Kentucky in 1994.
