Job Announcement Full-time Lecturer in the School of Interiors
The School of Interiors at the University of Kentucky’s College of Design seeks applicants for a full-time lecturer position with expertise in one or more of the following categories: Digital Media, Design Fabrication, Interior Design Professional Practice, Interior Construction, and Interior Building Systems. The assignment will begin on August 16, 2017 and will include a 2-year initial contract with annual reviews.
All faculty at the School of Interiors support the design-centered curriculum by applying research, professional, and creative expertise to innovative studio, seminar, and/or lecture course offerings. The School seeks candidates who have experience in the profession and/or an agenda of scholarly research/creative work and who are committed to professional, scholarly, and teaching excellence. Teaching loads will consist of two studios and two additional courses per year. Preferred candidates for these positions must hold a terminal degree and at least one degree in Interior Design. Professional experience and NCIDQ certification is highly desirable. As a land-grant institution, university and professional service are an expectation.
The School of Interiors grants a CIDA-accredited professional degree at the undergraduate level. The school also has a post-professional master’s degree program for design specialization. The College of Design includes the School of Architecture and the Department of Historic Preservation.
