Chris Birkentall comes to UK with years of practice and teaching. Her most recent appointment was at Rochester Institute of Technology, where she taught professional practices, special topics, retail studio, color and light, residential design, healthcare design. She also teaches design thinking for Laureate University and many design courses for Art Institute of Pittsburgh online. Her award-winning firm Studio 626 operated in Oak Park, Ill., for more than15 years. She continues to be a product judge for Contract Magazine at Neocon annually, and escorts students to this event to have them learn first-hand what the profession is all about. Chris has presented at the Interior Design Educators Council regional and national conferences on topics of pedagogy and design thinking. She has served on the boards of the International Interior Design Association, both in New York and Illinois, and on the IL board for the National Kitchen and Bath Association.
